Our other big outing this weekend was to the Maryland State Fair. Mommy and Daddy took the words "Labor Day" literally yesterday and worked hard cleaning up the outside and inside of the house.
When they were done they said it was time to go over to the State Fair and see if Mommy had won any more ribbons for her baked goods. And guess what? She did! (The picture up top is just some of the entries in the baked goods category.)
Last week she won a second place and a special recognition award for her chocolate cake (that's her cake above). Yesterday she won two third place ribbons for her Jalapeno Cheddar Corn Meal Muffins and a second place for her Cranberry Nut Bread. Daddy still thinks the contest was more fixed than an NBA game because he can't believe there were two corn meal muffins better than Mom's entry!
To celebrate we walked around the Fairgrounds and Daddy tried to decide what kind of deep fried food on a stick he wanted to try. Everything seemed the same to him until we saw somebody selling a Deep Fried Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich. Even though it wasn't on a stick it was deep fried and different so he wanted to try it.
Mom and Dad both said it was really good, but I'm just happy chewing on my fist!

Wow! Your mommy is a really good baker! That's going to be great for you when it's time to take treats to school...you'll be the hit of the class! Maybe you can also bring bacon stuffed frankfurter casserole!
Lehigh... don't laugh. We came home from the State Fair and made Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Hot Dogs!
